2019 Old Mutual Two Oceans Maraton Charity Entries

Every year, a number of entries are sold to benefit charities under the Two Oceans Marathon Initiative (TOMI).

Charity groups will have the opportunity to use the 2019 OMTOM Ultra and Half Marathon as a fundraising platform.

    Charity Entry Process:

    • Entry fee: R300 per Half Marathon entry; R600 per Ultra Marathon entry.
    • A portion of the entry fee will go to the Two Oceans Marathon Initiative (TOMI). 
    • Entry vouchers will be issued for the charity entries.
    • Charities may set their own entry fee and/or fundraising criteria and sell these entries to athletes wanting to run for their cause.
    • The charity will issue the entry voucher to the runner once the proof of payment is provided.
    • This entry voucher must be used to enter online by the stipulated entry deadline date. It cannot be redeemed for an entry at the OMTOM Expo.
      • The entry voucher is only valid for the actual race entry and person on the entry voucher. 
      • It may not be resold to another runner or 3rd party ticketing supplier.
    • Charity entrants will get seeded based on the race results supplied. Entrants who participate for the first time and do not submit any seeding information will be seeded into the last start group.
    • Entrants will follow the normal number collection process at the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon Expo.

    How to apply for bulk charity entries on behalf of YOUR charity:

      • Please complete the online application form and submit all supporting documents by midnight 15 November 2018.
      • Any applications with outstanding supporting documents will not be considered.
      • Successful applicants will be informed by 16 November 2018
      • Entry vouchers numbers will be allocated to successful charities by 28 November 2018 and payment must be made to OMTOM before this date to receive the voucher numbers.
      • Charities are able to sell entries and allocate entry vouchers, followed by entrants using their vouchers to finalise their entry online from 3 December 2018 to 18 March 2019.
      • Public Launch of Charity Entry Partners will be on 30 November 2018 once all open Half Marathon entries have been allocated.
      • Any entry voucher not redeemed on the online entry system by 18 March 2019 will be forfeited.

      • Provide details of the programme/initiative requiring funding, including a detailed budget and items for which the funds will be used;
      • Actively promote their TOMI fundraising campaign, while strictly adhering to the Two Oceans Marathon branding requirements
      • Provide a report on how the funds were used, including images of programmes being implemented/completed by no later than 1 June in the year after which the funds were received;
      • Acknowledge TOM NPC/TOMI in any communication regarding the programme/initiative;
      • Provide TOMI unhindered access to any records should the programme/initiative be required for an audit and/or financial scrutiny.

      Applicants will be informed of their status by 15 November 2018.
